Sarah Havens of Sarah Havens Millinery has been creating
hats for 20 years.
While learning the art of hat making in college, Sarah
interned with professional opera companies and studied under some of the most
talented milliners in the entertainment industry. She then brought her artistry to Actors
Theatre of Louisville, The Louisville Ballet and The Stage One Children’s
Theatre. Her talent continued to grow
while working full time as a craft artisan in Cincinnati; and she was even
offered an opportunity to build hats for an opera at the MET.
Now working in her studio in Louisville, Sarah continues to
explore and develop her craft:
“Hats
create a sense of mystery that our culture craves. We adorn ourselves to attract attention to
make a statement about who we are.”
